The Animal Welfare Program at the Faculty of Land and Food Systems invites you to join us for an evening featuring world renowned animal welfare expert, Temple Grandin. Dr. Grandin has revolutionized livestock handling facilities all over the globe and has dedicated much of her life to improving the lives of animals. She is also widely known for advancing the cause of people with autism. Dr. Grandin will give a talk on high standards in animal welfare and how they can be maintained.

March Break Kids Cooking Camp

What a great way to spend the March Break.... learning about food, visiting the garden, sharing jokes, stories & fun and a delicious lunch! Chef Russell welcomes the kids into the UBC Farm Kitchen where they will learn how to make their own box lunches using seasonal/local ingredients. This is a 100% hands on course your kids will love! Urban Digs Goats offer customers Free Christmas Tree Disposal Services

Still have that Christmas tree kicking around? Our goats would be happy to take it off your hands. They'll strip it of all it's needles then we'll chip what's left and use it for filling up the muddy spots on the farm. So bring your tree down to the farm this Saturday between 10-2 and drop it off for free with any purchase from our farm stand. In case you need any more incentive, you'll get to meet Holly, the baby goat and who doesn't want to kick off a new year with a baby goat?

Pork Butchery Workshop

This small, hands-on class will walk you through breaking down a whole side of pork.  This is a great opportunity to learn some butchery skills but you'll also learn about the different cuts of pork and how to make the most of the whole animal. Once the whole side has been butchered, we'll divide it into 4 parts so each participant can take home their share.
